As part of Victoria’s Big Build, major construction has finished on three of the five new Metro Tunnel underground stations and trial operations continue ahead of opening later this year. Works continue to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, while Regional Rail Revival works will take place on the Gippsland Line.

As the West Gate Tunnel nears completion, work continues to widen the West Gate Freeway from 8 to 12 lanes, while road upgrades are in progress across the south east as part of Big Build Roads. Tunnelling continues on North East Link and work is underway to upgrade the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road.

Major construction has kicked off to prepare for tunnelling on Suburban Rail Loop East.
